VFR NightLearn to fly at night
Aeroclub Friulano offers VFR Night training to develop the skills needed for visual flying at night. Theory and flight training prepare you for a different flying environment, with the preparation and attention it requires.
What you will explore
Understand visual cues
Explore night vision, visual illusions and the role of lighting as the external references available to you change.
Prepare your flight
Develop flight planning, weather assessment and navigation skills, considering conditions and the available alternatives before departure.
Practise procedures
Practise night take-offs, circuits, landings and navigation, with particular attention to aircraft handling and unexpected situations.
The course
The course combines theoretical instruction and flight training following the applicable night rating syllabus. Topics include aircraft preparation, lighting, orientation, and normal and emergency procedures. The school will explain how lessons and flights are organised, including which aerodromes are used for training.
Before you start
